The Megastar is missed by millions of supporters and now she’s back in a major way via CAREGIVER!

Star Cinema and Direk Chito Roño’s groundbreaking project for 2008 has definitely unleashed the acting prowess that the public has sorely missed from the megastar. With Caregiver, we will see Sharon as we’ve never seen her before! Sharon describes the movie with much vigor. “Ito po ang pinaghirapan namin, ang unang pelikula ko sa apat na taon at 15th anniversary presentation ng Star cinema, pinakamahal at pinakamalaking pelikula daw po nila ito, unang unang pagsasama namin ng Star cinema, ni Direk Chito at ng inyong lingcod. Magbubuhat na po ako ng bangko, napakganda ng pelikulang ito. I thik di lang sa ganda kasi nag-shoot sa London, maganda shots, hindi lang po ‘yon e. when I say maganda kabuuan po yon, ang puso, kaluluwa, hirap, pagod at saya mararamdaman niyo po pag nanood kayo ng Caregiver. Gaya nga ng sabi ko, kanina parang inako ko na yong responsibilidad na I’m going to be representing caregivers all over the world. Tumaas ng 1000 times ang ang respeto ko at admiration ko para sa kanilang lahat.”Caregiver chronicles the journey of Sarah, a schoolteacher-turned-caregiver. 80% of film was shot in London with British actors (Saul Reichlin, Matthew Rutherford, Claire Jeater) and powerhouse true-blue Pinoy cast—John Estrada, Rica Peralejo, Makisig Morales, John Manalo, Jhong Hilario, Mickey Feriols, Lotlot de Leon, Marita Zobel, Anita Linda, Ella V., Ima Castro and Boots Anson Roa. “So in the end really I think its empowering, in the end. Siguro lahat dadanasin nyo siguro lahat ng naramdaman ko hirap, pagod, awa sa sarili, pagkapit na lang sa faith no. pangungulila, lahat yon, lahat ng dinanas ko ng tatlong linggo dinadanas nila ng ilang taon. Mararamdaman ng viewers sigurado.”Caregiver is such a fitting tribute not only to the millions of Overseas Filipino Workers and to Sharon herself, as she celebrates thirty successful years in the industry and twenty years in ABS-CBN!“I hope itong munting alay ko para sa napakalalaking okasyon na ito and over 30 years in music and 27 years in music I have been yours, you have made me yours I hope na kasama ko pa rin kayo hanggang dito Diyos ko ‘di ko alam aabot tayo sa ganito. Caregiver opens in theaters nationwide on May 28, 2008. International premieres scheduled on Los Angeles (May 31), Honolulu (June 1), London (June 6), and Rome (June 7).
