STRICKEN AMY WINEHOUSE is coughing up BLOOD and has a raging chest infection, it emerged last night. Doctors are also worried by skeletal Amy’s weight loss and lack of appetite, other symptoms of tuberculosis. The 24-year-old Back to Black star has an irregular heartbeat and has been on a drip while medics try to wean her off hard drugs. Last night a close pal told The Sun:"Amy is in a bad way. Doctors are still struggling to control her heartbeat but the chest condition has been really worrying them. "She’d been been suffering horrible coughing fits and hurling up blood for a while but refused to be examined. Doctors now believe it is tuberculosis and are doing more tests to be certain."Amy — who was steadily lost weight since hitting the big time in 2004 — collapsed at home in Camden, North London, on Monday.

Doctors tell Amy to 'quit or die'

AMY WINEHOUSE was last night warned: "Quit drugs now — or die."
The junkie singer, 24, was still in hospital having tests last night after she fainted on Monday.

And doctors warned her next collapse could be her last.
A source said: "She might have escaped this time, but eventually she won’t get up again.
"The only thing to stop that happening is if she quits drugs."
Doctors said the faint could be linked to her massive overdose last summer.
Brain tests at the time revealed problems linked to drugs. Amy was told she would keep having seizures unless she quit. The source said yesterday: "After this, it looks like they were right."
Pals urged the singer to quit the music scene to make a full recovery.
One said: "She should not work for at least six months. It’s irresponsible of her team to keep putting her on stage. "She needs to get away from temptations."
Amy, who has fought heroin and crack addiction, is due to play Glastonbury and Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday this month. Yesterday dad Mitch, who drove her from home in Camden, North London, to the London Clinic near Harley Street, said: "She’s doing fine." Her spokesman denied she had been partying.

X FACTOR sensation LEONA LEWIS is on the brink of being chosen to sing the new James Bond theme tune.
The Hackney-born star, 23, is set to beat troubled AMY WINEHOUSE and a host of other big names to one of the most prestigious deals in pop.
Film chiefs are talking to Leona’s camp and now think she is the ideal choice to sing the title track for the 22nd Bond blockbuster Quantum Of Solace.
A source revealed yesterday: “It looks like Leona has finally won the race. She is seen as one of the few candidates who has the right profile both sides of the pond to do it.
“Amy was their original choice but she just can’t get her act together and hasn’t got the right image.
“The Bond guys now look set on Leona. She is reliable and has a great voice for it.
“Hopefully something could be announced soon.”
Amy, 24, has been in the driving seat since last year.
But her relationship with superproducer MARK RONSON broke down as they tried to record the track.
Leona has smashed a host of chart records since winning the X Factor in 2006.
Her track Bleeding Love made her the first British female to have a No1 single in America since Kim Wilde 21 years ago.
Quantum Of Solace, starring DANIEL CRAIG as Bond, is due out in October.
