Leona launches fashion range
LEONA LEWIS is about to be crowned as an all-conquering pop icon. The singer from an East London housing scheme won the hearts of the nation when she triumphed in the X Factor — and smashed UK chart records for fun with her debut single and album. She then wowed the States and became the first UK female to have a No1 single over the Pond since shoulder pads were compulsory in suits. But Leona still has one thing missing from the armoury required by any self-respecting pop superstar — her own fashion range. Now that is about to change. The star who topped the Christmas charts two years ago with A Moment Like This has arranged a meeting with High Street supremo SIR PHILIP GREEN to thrash out a deal for her own Topshop collection. The pair will get together in London soon to discuss the mega-money deal. It just shows how far the shy girl from Hackney has come since winning the TV talent contest very convincingly in 2006.I was in the Bizarre office when she visited us to celebrate victory and, to be honest, she looked like she had got dressed in the dark. But since then time in New York and Hollywood has seen Leona smoothly transform herself into a classy-looking and fashion-conscious personality with worldwide appeal
