Nick Cannon: How Can I Not Fall in Love with Mariah?

Nick Cannon is replacing Jerry Springer as the host of NBC's America's Got Talent, but what sets him apart from mere mortals is that he's married to Mariah Carey. Even though they just celebrated their one-year anniversary, Cannon still can't believe he got to walk down the aisle with the sexy chart-busting diva. And, he's ready to dish about his gorgeous wife and his new gig.

Waking up with Mariah Carey. "Every single morning I turn over and look at the most beautiful woman in the world next to me and say, 'How in the hell did I get her?' I don't believe in luck, but I feel like I'm one of the luckiest men in the world. I think one of the things about our relationship is the way we instantly connected. We both have a youthful spirit. We both enjoy life. We're both extremely optimistic. Aside from that, there's the fact that she's Mariah Carey. How can I not fall in love with her? It was one of those things where I went, 'This is a woman I can give and will give 100% of myself to.'"

Don't look for a duet. "I am not worthy of being on a Mariah Carey record. Maybe I'll help mix the tracks at the studio. I play a lot of instruments, so maybe you might see me in the background on one of her performances one day, but never like actually putting my voice and her voice together. The two of us on the same recording isn't going happen."

Being her wake-up call. "I'm her alarm clock. I wake her up every morning by singing to her and she's like, 'I can't take it. Stop singing.' But my voice does wake her up and get her going. Actually, I'm the one around the house singing more than anyone."

Being the host and not a judge on America's Got Talent. "The cool thing about my job is that I don't have to critique anybody. As the host, I just root for everyone. Being an entertainer, I've been in their shoes. I remember I grew up traveling across the country, doing different talent shows, different small comedy clubs and all of those things. So actually, I know what they're going through. I know what that anxiety is like, the butterflies in the stomach, the tingling on the back of your neck. It takes me back to when I was an 8-year-old kid doing talent shows."

Island Def Jam Chairman L.A. Reid hosted a “Summer of Love” reception Saturday night at his home in the Hamptons to celebrate the marriage of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon.

How did newlyweds Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon cap off two romantic weeks together in the Bahamas? They went to Disney World, of course!The famous lovebirds spent Tuesday enjoying the Florida theme parks' wild rides, including the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, the famous indoor coaster Space Mountain (Nick's favorite ride), and the stomach-plunging Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (Mariah's favorite.)They also met up with the another power couple -- the biggest in all of Disney World -- Mickey and Miney Mouse! The dynamic duos mugged for photos at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and Mariah really got into the spirit of things by wearing "Tinker Bell" earrings and a designer t-shirt depicting Mickey and Miney sharing a smooch.She and Nick planned to top off their fun by taking in the "Wishes" fireworks show set to the backdrop of the Magic Kingdom's iconic Cinderella Caste.

So the world's press have been falling over themselves recently, coming up with all sorts of completely fabricated stories about Mariah- and calling all of us who love her for a quote. So here goes: Congratulations to my New York cousin who has become a wife, and her new husband, Nick Cannon. MC is still an MC, as she's now Mrs Mariah Carey-Cannon! Before we get into the real talk, let's cut the silly stories dead: MC didn't buy her own ring and she wasn't given a second hand ring. In fact, I'm reliably informed that the ring Nick once offered someone else isn't even in the same league as the one MC is sporting. MC's is 10 times bigger. MC's ring is the most beautiful ring ever with "pink yet lavender" diamonds surrounding the centre. Next: The flowers didn't come from the island of Eleuthera. They were flown in from Miami. Also, with regards to all the pre-nup rumours; all you need to know is they're both independent with their own thing going on and have both their respective heads screwed firmly on! MC has been friends with Nick since 2005 when he presented her with a Billboard Music Award. They kept in touch and let their friendship develop and the most beautiful thing is: Nick always used to say he was in love with MC and that one day he was going to marry her. It seems he spoke it into existence!! Nick went on to propose to MC- twice! Firstly on the Empire State Building, which she had just lit up publicly in pink- yet lavender- lights. Nick hid the ring in a candy wrapper amongst lollipops and lunchboxes, and then he re-proposed after whisking her off on a helicopter ride around New York so she could see her "pink and lavender Empire State Building." Think that's beautiful? They've further cemented their love for each other with tattoos. Neither of them have ever had a tattoo in their lives but now MC is sporting a "Mrs Cannon" tattoo while Nick has "Mariah" across his back. I can say that of all the men I've seen MC with in the past, I've never seen her like this. I'm not sure she's ever truly been in love until now. And even better still, all of us who love her, love him, coz he constantly reminds us: "I am madly in love with my wife and it's my life duty to make her happy." I toast you Mr and Mrs Cannon!

Newlyweds Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon made their first public appearance as a married couple last night. On a warm evening, the air was notably full of amore and smiles as the happy couple beamed with obvious delight while departing the Waverly Inn in NYC.
In a cute strapless black dress, Mariah looked a fraction of her 38 years, and her dazzling wedding ring certainly added an extra shine to the diva too! Nick Cannon appeared to be an equally loved up groom, as he clung to Mariah's toned waist and hand.

Cannon adds: "She is beautiful on the outside and 10 times as beautiful on the inside."
