More Sex: Sequel Confirmed

Yep. Looks like Michael Patrick King and SJP just couldn't resist the opportunity to rake in more cash and squeeze every ounce of creative juice from this franchise. Both confirmed the news at the DVD release party yesterday in New York. Coincidentally, Candace Bushnell, the author behind the book that sparked the phenomenon, also announced that she's writing a prequel to the first Sex, documenting how these ladies all came to know each other.
If the movie sequel is indeed based on this prequel idea, I highly doubt fans will buy SJP & Co. playing twentysomethings. There ain't enough Botox in the world to smooth every crease on those mugs. Still, in Michael Patrick King we trust - Please don't let us down.
Read about it HERE.

Dark Knight Joins $500 Million Club

The last $100 million is the hardest.
The Dark Knight yesterday became only the second movie in Hollywood history to gross $500 million or more. It now stands within $100 million of toppling Titanic as the biggest-ever film at the domestic box office.
Elsewhere, Tropic Thunder made it three wins in a row at the weekend box office, with a $14.3 million four-day, holiday take, per studio estimates today from Exhibitor Relations

Close to a Masterpiece

Critics aren't the only ones fawning over the new Batman movie!
Director Kevin Smith just saw the film and he raved about it.

He says:
Without giving anything away, this is an epic film (and trust me: based on the sheer size and scope of the visuals and storytelling, that's not an overstatement). It's the "Godfather II" of comic book films and three times more earnest than "Batman Begins" (and fuck, was that an earnest film). Easily the most adult comic book film ever made. Heath Ledger didn't so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know I'm not the first to suggest this, but he'll likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. Fucking flick's nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). I can't imagine anyone being disappointed by it. Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece.

Spider-Man 4? You're Gonna Have to Wait

Looks like everyone's favorite web-slinging superhero is slowly weaving his way back to the box office. Very slowly.
Laura Ziskin, producer of the blockbuster movie franchise starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, told theater owners from California and Nevada on Thursday that Spider-Man 4 won't hit theaters until at least 2011.
She said there is no script yet and neither Maguire nor director Sam Raimi have signed on.
Spider-Man 3 opened in 2007 to mixed reviews, although that didn't stop the film from grossing a record $59 million its first day out of the gate.
The first three Spidey flicks combined have grossed a whopping $2.5 billion worldwide.

The Echo (Trailer)

Here's the trailer of the movie The Echo, the most anticipated movie from a young filipino filmmaker Yam Laramas,i've seen the original version of this movie and all i can say is Laramas is such a brilliant filipino talent, the film scares me to death with out the use of special effects, just the visuals and lighting.
