Womanizer hit No.1

Another week, another record-breaking jump to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Britney Spears makes a near-maximum 96-1 rise with "Womanizer," returning to the top of the list for the first time since her debut single "...Baby One More Time" hit No. 1 in January 1999.
This is the third time in the past two months that the mark for the biggest jump to No. 1 has been shattered. On the Hot 100 dated Sept. 6, T.I. soared 71-1 with "Whatever You Like" and last week he sprinted 80-1 with "Live Your Life."
Spears' single is spurred by first-week download sales of 286,000, the biggest opening-week tally by a female artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital downloads in 2003, besting Mariah Carey's take for "Touch My Body" by just over 200 units.
In between her nearly 10-year gap between No. 1s, Spears has placed four other top 10s on the Hot 100, the last being "Gimme More," the first single from her last set, "Blackout." That song jumped 68-3 last October with first-week download sales of 179,000.

Britney - dubbed Puff Mama by the US press - is currently allowed two visits and one overnight per week in the settlement. After winning praise in recent weeks for getting her own life back on track, these pictures prove Britney's parenting skills still need some work.

The troubled singer filmed the intense scenes for holographic video footage to be shown at Madge's Sticky and Sweet concerts. Judging by these pics of Britney - who had a couple of high profile meltdowns earlier this - she's starting to sort herself out.
Wearing what appears to be a black wetsuit in one of the scenes, the singer looks toned and blemish-free. Even her scruffy hair has been transformed into a barnet that's fit for a shampoo ad. Madonna's Sticky and Sweet tour kicks off in Cardiff on August 23.

Britney Spears and Madonna's latest hookup has been temporarily derailed by a technical glitch.Spears had been scheduled to begin shooting a video montage for Madonna's upcoming tour this morning at the Lots soundstage in Hollywood. But production insiders say that because the set was not finished in time, cameras will not roll until tomorrow.
The set features an elevator, in, around and on which Spears will dance.
"The video will be very deep," a source in the Spears camp tells E! News. "You've never seen Britney like this before. It will blow your mind."Madonna reached out to Britney to do the project, says the source.The Material One's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, would only say that "there is footage being shot of Britney some time this week in conjunction with Madonna's upcoming tour" and that the segment was not a music video.
"That is all the information I have available," the rep added. "The rest is a secret."

Madge asks Britney back on stage

MADONNA has asked troubled BRITNEY SPEARS to join her on tour — and pals hope she will give guidance to the young star.
The Queen Of Pop, 49, is set to record a video with Britney, 26, in New York tomorrow.
The footage will be broadcast on huge screens as part of Madge’s Sticky and Sweet tour, which kicks off on August 23.
Madonna has also invited Britney to appear in person on some of the world tour dates.
A source close to Britney revealed: “They are recording a video together on Sunday that will provide the backdrop for part of Madonna’s show.
“And they are talking about Britney taking the stage on a few of the dates too.
“There’s no doubt that her and Britney together will spell fireworks again. “It’s hoped that Madonna can help Britney get back to her old self. Appearing with Madonna would really kickstart her career again. She’s been there and done it so could provide some great guidance.”
Britney and Madonna stunned fans at the MTV Music Awards in 2003 by sharing a passionate kiss.
The source added: “If anyone can mastermind a Britney comeback, it’s Madonna.
“Lots of people will be hoping there’s a repeat of the kissing incident a few years ago.”
The Toxic singer has always been a huge fan of Madge — and even converted to her Kabbalah religion. But it has been reported that their relationship cooled after Britney lost interest in the mystical Jewish faith.
The source added: “Maybe this means Britney is ready to devote to Kabbalah again as she tries to sort herself out.” Madonna’s new tour to support album Hard Candy promises to be her sexiest yet. She will turn 50 a week before it kicks off in Cardiff — but still plans to shock fans with a controversial stage show.
The singer will even pretend to be MUMMIFIED as part of a routine.

This time, an ambulance won't be required to move Britney Spears from her Beverly Hills-area home.The "Toxic" warbler is aiming to sell her home in the gated Summit community—ground zero of her January meltdown—and has quietly begun showing it to prospective buyers, E! News has learned.Earlier today, a Los Angeles court commissioner OK'd a request from Spears' conservatorship asking for permission to put the property on the market.

The court approval comes days after Spears was spotted looking at a $5.6 million, 7,300-square-foot house (above) in the L.A. suburb of Encino, closer to the home base of ex-husband Kevin Federline and the ex-couple's sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

IT might be a tight squeeze, but BRITNEY SPEARS has finally found a car that can’t get her into trouble.
The pop princess, 26, messed about in battery-powered motors with sons Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one, in front of her Beverly Hills home yesterday.
Previous motoring expeditions have not been so smooth — she has suffered several prangs and was last year charged with a hit-and-run offence and for driving without a valid licence.
And in 2006 she caused outrage when she was pictured speeding down a freeway with nine-month-old Sean Preston on her lap.
